Actions speak louder than words

I found this story by an unknown author that totally demonstrates why our children do as we do, not as we say

Teaching Baby Crab to Walk
Father crab was delighted that he had a baby, and hoped that his son would be the most correct and proper crab. Later, however, he was grieved to see Baby Crab sidling along instead of walking straight. “My son,” he said, “always remember that you should walk straight forward.” But despite all the lessons and talk of his father, Baby Crab persisted in walking sideways.
For many, many days the two might be seen at the bottom of the stream, and each day Father Crab put more and more energy into teaching his son to walk straight. At last the little fellow became discouraged and saddened and said, “Father, just walk straight yourself, and show me how it is done.”
The father crab started proudly along the sand at the bottom of the stream, but though he tried hard to walk straight, he had been so accustomed to walking at a slant that nature was too strong for him, and he went sideways.
The little crab cried out with glee, “If that is all that you want, I can walk like that too, Father,” and ever since, the baby crab has grown up walking sideways, which shows how much stronger were his father’s actions than his words.

Wow this really drives home that our children do as we do. I am glad that I have a home based business where I am able to demonstrate hard work and effort to my children.

A Mom’s Flexibility

October 29th, 2010

Why is it important with teenage children to have a flexible schedule? Well yesterday and today I learned an important lesson.

My daughter has a sports injury that has put her in a wheelchair. I now am running her to school and from school since the wheel chair can’t get on her regular bus.
WOW is it critical to have a home based business where you can have the time to do what your child needs. I don’t know how I would have ever done this if I was back in the corporate world!

Make sure that you keep your children safe for Halloween.

1. Have them carry flashlights
2. If they have a dark costume, have reflector tape on their costumes
3. Make sure they don’t have masks that block their view
4. Make sure they don’t have long costumes they trip on
5. Don’t let them eat any candy until you inspect it
6. Stay with your children and watch who they talk to

Do you have any other suggestions?

So many people have started getting ready for the holidays. Maybe you have started holiday shopping already, maybe you have started to fall clean the house so it is ready for company, maybe you have just started a list of things to do. The holidays can be a busy family time, a great time, but a time to be prepared for.

What are Your Desires?

October 7th, 2010
Author: Linda W

Desire is about who you are and what you value. As such,
following your desires is not selfish, but rather a pathway
for giving of yourself.

Desire is your way of telling yourself what you’re capable
of experiencing. Desire is your way of helping yourself to
understand what is truly meaningful.

Desires are nothing to be ashamed of. They are expressions
of the value you have to give.

Live your dreams, fulfill those desires.

We at Women’s Dream Team use our home based business to give us supplemental income (or full income) to be able to reach our desires for our future (and present!)
