When my grown children were small I never had the option of home schooling them.  I had to work outside the home.  So our three grown children were educated through the public school system and had some very good teachers.  When became parents of twin boys at the age of 46, we talked about how we wanted them educated from the time they were born until the year before they started school.  Fortunately this time around I had the option of home schooling them because I am a work at home mom with my own home based business

There are so many good teachers in public schools, the problem we have is not with the teachers as much as with the governing forces they are ruled by.  We believe children should not be taught the same way.  Each child is different and learns differently.  Some children learn at a very fast pace, others take their time.  My husband and I wanted to be able to start teaching them when they were ready, not when the school said they had to go.  We also wanted to choose what we taught them.  We have very strong spiritual beliefs that we also wanted to implement into their curriculum.

The school system wasn’t our only concern.  The peers were the biggest concern we had.  There are so many children in one room together for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week bringing in things that they are exposed to at home.  This concerned us greatly.  My husband and I are not under any belief that we can always protect them from everything, but we can protect them until we can instill in them what we think is healthy for them to learn and be exposed to.  Then when the time comes for them to be around other children they will have a better understanding of what is right and wrong where our family is concerned.

Many talk of home-school children not being socialized.  They have plenty of socialization with their church friends, their cousins, as well as, playing at the park with me and my husband within 10 feet to keep an eye on things.  It is a parent’s job to be on duty all the time.  Home school is our school of choice.  With my home-based business they are also learn the benefit of families working together toward success and the value of a hard earned dollar.  If you are considering home schooling your children I do believe you should read as much information as you can so you will be informed.  There are links below with information to help you get started.

Make Something Meaningful!

bxp34845 As a Woman Entrepreneur I found this poem enlightening:

The results you get don’t come from the situation. The results you achieve are determined by what you choose to focus upon and what you choose to do.

From the very same set of circumstances, two different people can achieve two vastly different results. The outcome is not based on what they are given, but on what they do with it.

If the results you are getting are not the results you desire, stop looking for someone or something to blame. Start looking for the possibilities that you have not yet considered.

Make your most positive and compelling purpose the filter through which you view everything that happens. That will cause outstanding, powerful possibilities to pop into view.
The world around you is constantly changing. There is always a way to harness the energy of the ever changing landscape to suit your purpose. Look calmly and confidently at the situation in which you find yourself. Then step gratefully forward, and make something beautiful, valuable and meaningful out of it all.

View from the Mind’s Eye

Leadership is particularly effective when it includes the use of visulization. As you determine exactly what you want to visualize, be certain of your ultimate intent. If you have sufficient interest and imagination, you will be capable of seeing your ambition clearly. This activity is especially powerful when combined with the belief in your ability to achieve success.

Things do not simply happen. You make them happen, and visualization plays a large part in each accomplishment.

Women Entrepreneurs expect to become successful, resolve difficulties, find solutions, create opportunities, and attain goals.

Business Quotes

mother and son
Two quotes that I just read that I wanted to share is from “Good to Great” by Jim Collins on page 88.
He states:

” A primary task in taking a company from good to great is to create a culture wherein people have a tremendous opportunity to be heard and, ultimately, for the truth to be heard. ”

” A good to great companies faced just as much adversity as the comparison companies, but responded to the adversity differently. They hit the realities of their situation head-on. As a result, they emerged from adversity even stronger.”

These both totally depict Women’s Dream Team. This group of women totally have the empowered attitude to succeed. You can see that they are entrepenuring women who strive to be amazing leaders! This is a win-win company to have your home business.

Remember that Patience Is a Virtue

home business for womenIn some ways, ambition can be considered a blessing and a curse. All successful entrepreneurs know that it takes motivation and drive to succeed in a competitive business environment, which makes an ambitious attitude essential. On the other hand, it can be difficult for an ambitious woman to demonstrate patience with her fledgling business. Success is seldom achieved overnight; it’s a gradual process that requires constant attention.

The best bet in these situations is to focus on the aspects of a home business for women that can be controlled. For example, there are always ways to revitalize and innovate in the marketing department. As a savvy businesswoman, you should put yourself in your customers’ shoes. Once you learn to market your company effectively through every avenue available to you, your list of clients will only grow.

TeamWork

Carl Mays in his book Anatomy of a Leader gave a great story about teamwork that I remember like it was yesterday.

olympic rings

” It is amazing what can happen when colleagues are committed to a task and committed to one another. Working shoulder to shoulder with associates builds loyalty commitment, and enthusiasm. In the 1980 Olympics, the US hockey team was ranked seventh in a field of eight teams. Working together, they won game after game and gained enormous confidence with each win. In the final fame, it was the undefeated American team agianst Russia, the expected gold medal winner. That game became one of the greatest upsets in the history of sports when the US team won 4-3. There were twenty young men on the American team. As individuals, they were good; as a team they were the best in the world.”

This brought me back to that Olympics and then flashed me forward to the team of women that I work with on Women’s Dream Team. Together…we move mountains!

The Recession Is Over?

The media keeps telling us the recession is coming to an end. Our jobless rate here in Texas is almost 10% so I am not sure what facts they are looking at. Instead of looking at the doom and gloom of the media concentrate on working from home to establish a financial opportunity to get you through the tough times.

You may find that finding a home based business is what was the answer all along. Heck, they are still rebuilding Galveston after Hurricane Ike from this time last year.

All is not lost, just do your homework and choose the right home based business and there are quite a few out there but choose the ones that are legit.

The Womens Dream Team provides all the support and direction you will ever need to establish financial security. Once you begin living on residual income you will never go back. Is the Recession over???? If you are a member of the Womens Dream Team you will not think anything about the Recession because working for yourself has always been the best investment.

busy momSeptember is here, and that means schools around the country are back in session – or at least they will be very soon. Once the kids are out from underfoot, many stay-at-home moms find themselves with an abundance of time on their hands. With schedules suddenly free and clear, this creates a perfect opportunity to make some extra money. A stay at home mom business can succeed, but it must be treated like a real job.

The first step is to set up a functional work environment, complete with a desk and whatever office supplies you’ll need. Make sure that you have reliable Internet access, as most of your business will be conducted online. When the kids come home from school, reinforce the fact that your workspace is off limits. Given enough time and persistence, you’ll be well on your way to operating a successful small business.
